1:5:10:282 EcoTip: You can use Google SketchUp with Google Earth to check your current or proposed home’s solar orientation.

Once you have placed your Google SketchUp design for your home on the chosen geographic site in Google Earth, you can check the solar orientation for various times of the day and year to determine the optimum placement and orientation for new construction, or to consider modifications for existing buildings. The software downloads are free at Google Earthand Google SketchUp.

  1. Some very intresting ideas and comments. I came across this page whilst looking for cheaper energy prices http://cheaperenergy.wordpress.com My bills haven risen by 35% this year and am now facing yet another increase by these greedy energy companies. (Thankfully I only rent so don’t have to worry about a mortgage as well.) Has anyone tried this green and cheap renewable energy? If so, be intrested to know how it worked for you.
