Take the 1:5:10:365 challenge: Do one thing – for 5 to 10 minutes – 365 days a year to make our home and planet environment better.

1:5:10:347 EcoTip: New energy efficient products are constantly becoming available. I just found some LED lights that screw into a conventional ceiling can light socket. This is an EcoOption product at Home Depot. I’m planning on installing a set this weekend. So I’ll let you know how it goes.

  1. How did these work?

  2. Sorry it took so long to respond. The LED can light that I purchased turned out to be the wrong size – so I took it back and traded it in on one that would fit. The installation worked out fine (once I got the right size) and it provides a lot of spot lighting right over the kitchen sink. The light is very bright and is a harsher light than your typical yellow incandescent, but it wasn’t long before I was used to it. I have purchased another for our living room ceiling.
