Welcome to today’s 1:5:10:365 Tip for becoming a better steward for our home and planet environment.

1:5:10:231 EcoTip: Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons are toxic chemicals that are produced when organic materials (including food) experience high temperatures such as are found in a self-cleaning oven when placed on the cleaning cycle. If you must use the self-cleaning cycle make sure you are ventilating the air to the outside quickly to help prevent a build-up of noxious vapors. Tomorrow’s tip is about a non-toxic method for keeping your oven clean so you won’t need to use the self-cleaning function.
